Fudgesicle Friday 1.29.10 with Lynda

Welcome to the LOVE zone on Fudgesicle Friday….

For my project this week I decided to use this adorable digital stamp design by Cheeky Radish…isn’t Tootsie the cutest…don’t you just LOVE him….  He just makes me smile…  I colored him with various Prismacolor pencils and then cut him out.  I rounded the corner on my image piece of cardstock and mounted it with foam tape onto the card that I had topped with a piece of pattern paper from Nikki Silvis.  I printed my sentiment on the computer and inked the edgea…

The scoop on my card:  Digital stamp Tootsie by Cheeky Radish;  Pattern paper:  Nikki Silvis U R My Fav/U R Love; Colored pencils: Prismacolor.

Be sure to check out the Paper Popsicles store for more great digital stamp designs that you can use to create your own Valentines and feel the LOVE this holiday season.

Wednesday’s Dippin’ Dot Digitals

Since I couldn’t decided if I should use a Cheeky Radish digital stamp or a Shaped Card Template I decided to use both!!  You can find the cupid digital stamp HERE and the heart card template HERE.  Get the heart shaped template FREE at my blog www.8ers.blogspot.com  It will be posted here too later – having a problem with it.

I hope to inspire you with my creation so you will made a Valentine card to share with us!  I think the cupid stamp is just too cute. I decided I wanted to add some patterned paper to my card so I adhered the rectangle paper on the back of the card.

This example shows the card standing up. The paper on the back of the card doesn’t interfere with opening or putting a message on the inside of the card.

The Scoop: Bazzill cardstock, small paper doilie, stickers by Me & My Big Ideas and Reminisce, Cheeky Radish Digital Stamp, Paper Popsicles shaped card template, Copic markers, miscellaneous buttons.

If you create a new project based on our theme this week (love) be sure to post a direct link to your theme based project from your blog to our blog (any other links will be removed).

Tips and Techniques Tutorial by Kimber McGray!

What a TREAT!  Kimber has graciously given us a simple technique sure to make your projects special.

Adding texture to projects with dry embossing

Kimber shares:   “I tend to use a lot of cardstock on my projects. To keep them from looking flat and unexciting, I like to add texture in different ways.
For this card, I texture by dry embossing in 2 different ways.
“1st I ran a piece of blue cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dot embossing folder. “
“After removing it from the folder, I gently sanded the tops of the dots. ”Adhere the cardstock to the front of the shaped card and trim around the edges with scissors.”

“2nd I ran a strip of cardstock through an old school paper crimper to create wavy lines.
Then I gently sand the tops to reveal a lighter color. ”

“Before adhering it to the card, I punched a scalloped edge along the one side.To finish the card, simply tie a piece of twine around the bottom of the card and add a few alpha stickers for your sentiment.”Mitten card

Wednesday Dippin’ Dot Digitals!

Today I thought I would fill you up with some simple paper piecing–SNOW STYLE.   Digital images are PERFECT for this task and paper piecing can add dimension and interest to a layout or a card instantly!

Start off by printing off both images and coloring in them both.  On one of the images, you can be sloppy.  You are going to cut it up anyway.  Take this time to paint, use Shimmerz, etc.  Really blend your Copics on the image you are going to cut.

Cut out the part of the image you want to POP on your project.  In this case, I cut the scarf out carefully on the black lines.Voila!  After mounting your cut out piece on some pop up dots and adding it to the full image, you have instant fun and dimension!

The Scoop on My Card:     Pepper the Penguin can be found here for only $1.99!, Thickers vinyl letters, misc. ric rac, Cuttlebug snowflake 5 x 7 embossing folder, Core’dinations cardstock, copics, Shimmerz which can be found here for only  $3.75!, and Paper Whimsies by Sassfrass.
